Tool skills

Today provided the opportunity for the group to learn or refresh safe tool use. Some children tried using the bow saw and others then used a hand drill to bore a hole in their freshly sawn tree cookie.

Today was a shorter session than normal due to a change in my timetable this week. We looked at a couple of knots and the had a quick den building session. Good to see a class work so well together.  I am really looking forward to my Forest school block with them.

Very busy day in the woods!

The purple group were out in the woods this morning on a bear hunt, following the clues and completing the challenges left by the hiding ted. They found him and escorted him inside safely too. In the afternoon, it was the turn ofP6 and P7 pupils to head to the woods. No bears for them. Just saws and rope courses to try!
